Taking Buffalo’s 11-Day Power Play Beyond the Blue Line

July 1, 2026

How Precision Process team member Rob Nappo exceeded his fundraising goals and contributed to the marathon hockey event supporting cancer research.

The 11-Day Power Play is a continuous marathon hockey game in Buffalo, NY, where players keep the puck moving for eleven days straight. The event raises essential funds for cancer research and local wellness programs, turning every shift on the ice into direct support for the Western New York community.

On June 26th, Design Engineer Robert Nappo from Precision Process joined the event, taking on a three-hour early morning shift to help keep the marathon running.

Rob set a personal fundraising goal of $1,100 and exceeded it, raising $1,393.84. His efforts contributed to the event’s total of $1,695,795.01 raised for local charities.

Community support is central to our organizations. The Precious Plate and Precision Process teams backed Rob’s early morning shift with donations and encouragement. Rob shared his appreciation for the support:

“It means everything to me to be able to use the game that I am so passionate about to help raise awareness and funds for such a great cause. Doing it knowing that I have the support of family, friends, and colleagues makes it that much more meaningful.”

Rob’s dedication highlights the value of teamwork. Whether we are building automated equipment for surface finishing or supporting community initiatives, collaboration drives results.
