I am Mark Oakey, Facilities Manager. Since I started here in April of 1983, my focus has been on building absolute customer trust. In our high-stakes business, reliability and transparency mean everything. That is why I believe in lasting partnerships built on dependable quality. A former leader once told me, “If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.” I carry that forward-thinking mindset every single day. When a challenge arises, I step up and find a clear way to resolve it.
I learned how to solve complex problems through hard, hands-on work. After attending Alfred State College for automotive trades, I worked across several different skilled fields. Those practical experiences help me apply proven strategies to today’s challenges for faster, more effective results. For example, in the early 1980s, I created the original mold for a two-sided urethane block that cut our gold usage in half. To keep delivering that kind of innovation, I lead my team with trust and open communication. I empower everyone to take true ownership of their work.
Outside of the facility, my life is all about family and fun. I love hiking, traveling, and spending time with my kids and grandkids. You can always find me cheering on the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and Bandits, or watching my grandkids play their sports. I also love hosting and cooking for my annual pig roast, usually with a cold beer in hand.
